🌱Why no one wants kids
I've seen this topic so often in the news. People love singling out Japan for its lack of babies and aging/dwindling population. The same thing is happening all over, though.
And people keep bringing up money as the reason why, but it's not really about money. Like, money is definitely a factor, but is not THE factor. Poor people been having kids.
People are saying no to kids because:
- It's socially acceptable to not have kids
- Women have options now, and they just don't want the physical & mental trauma or lifelong commitment
- They've seen/read about what parents go through online and don't want it
- They don't want to bring a kid into this cruel world to potentially suffer and definitely die
- Marriage isn't as appealing as it used to be/not as pressured
I think societies everywehre might want to drop the infinite growth models and come up with other solutions...that don't infrindge on people's choices/rights.
